Castle Rock United Methodist Church
Church Office 360-274-4252

Welcome to Castle Rock United Methodist Church. I'm Pastor Pam Brokaw and I'd love to meet you. You'll find us to be a community-centered church that listens seriously to the words of Jesus Christ who inspires us to follow and serve.

Maybe you've been to church before or maybe you've never attended a worship service. Please don't worry. We are a comfortable place of love and not judgment. Please know we are here to gather together to reach out to our neighbors and to learn and grow together in faith.

When I think about our church, I am reminded of one of my favorite verses from Isaiah that reads: "I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?" --Isaiah 43:19

There are so new many things we can do together in service to our community and our Creator. We hope you will join us!

Peace and Grace,

Pastor Pam

Dear Friends,

Philippians 2:5-11 invites us to consider the identity of Jesus. Theology Professor Martha L. Moore-Keish states these verses spark conversations around the following questions: Who is Jesus Christ? What is the character of the Christian life? What is the nature of the call to church?

These three questions make for thought provoking study and reflections by individuals as well as in a group setting.

Moore-Keish reminds that Paul's words in Philippians 2:5-11 are actually addressed to the entire Christian community--the gathered church at Philippi. With this in mind, the church is called to be like Jesus "who gave up power and privilege to be in the midst of the suffering world." (Moore-Keish)

We can ask ourselves what this means to the struggling church today. How are we to be humble servants of God in a world that respects strength in numbers?

Peace and Grace,

Pastor Pam
